Ron Paul is a rock star. Or at least he should be. This bad Ron Paul sign is proof of concept that the name “Ron Paul” says it all. No “… for President”, or “… will abolish the IRS but nobody really knows how”, or even “… who is Ron Paul – a democrat, republican or libertarian?”

No way. Ron Paul is name recognition. Even on a cardboard scotch taped sign at an intersection. This sign might as well say “Madonna” or “Bono”. Maybe even “Cher”. “Ron Paul” is two first names and that counts as good as one rock star first name in my book.

The whole idea here is I’m not sure if supporters or haters of Ron Paul are putting up these damn signs. This bad Ron Paul sign is a perfect example.

For those who don’t realize the conundrum… Ron Paul is a Republican, that’s who he is. But Republican’s are red-staters. So what the hell is Ron Paul doing with a blue sign? I’m telling you people, Ron is eff’ing with you or these signs are hack jobs.

But then notice the official Ron Paul bumpersticker underneath this piece of urban art. Ron Paul’s official dominant color is democratic blue.

I’ve got a bad feeling about this.

The sad thing about this bad Ron Paul sign is not the fact that it’s taped to a gigantic electric box or even that the sign is poorly stenciled. The sad thing about this sign is that 98% of the hundreds of people passing by and reading it each day don’t know who Ron Paul is, what Ron Paul stands for, or who or what about any of the other candidates either.

Except Hilary. They all know about Hilary.

The number one rule of real estate also applies to political sign placement and Ron Paul supporters/haters are no dummies.

This bad Ron Paul campaign sign is nailed to a telephone pole just above eye level so that passers by can’t help but miss the 18″ sign that blends nicely into the pole.

I also like the font chosen by the artist. Nice job.

This one is actually not all that bad. Forget for a moment the whole spray painted bed sheet look and concentrate on the good things about this bad Ron Paul sign. The artist/supporter/hater has successfully tied two corners of the sign to to a fence near the interstate and made the sign big enough so you can actually see it from a distance, but only when the wind isn’t blowing. If the wind is blowing, forget about it.

Back to the question “Is Ron Paul Evol?”. The Ron Paul supporters and/or Ron Paul haters masquerading as supporters have adopted the pseudo motif of writing the “E” backwards for the “Revolution” genre of bad Ron Paul signs. The letters “evol” of “Revolution” are then distinguished and set apart from the rest of the word by a different color, usually red.

I get it. Cute. “Love” spelled backwards. Ron Paul’s revolution is all about love. Let me get my guitar and get naked in the bed with Yoko and wait for Iowa and New Hampshire.

But is it really “Love” after all, or have the Ron Paul haters hijacked the whole thing and placed the subliminal “Evol” which is the uber-cool sadistic pronunciation of “Evil”? Hmmm… Dr. Evol, or Dr. Love? Which is it.
